Rising costs, flat employer budgets, and shrinking margins are squeezing health plans from every direction and that’s before accounting for the new entrants, empowered brokers, and fragmented point solutions. Membership pools are shifting, fully-insured is losing ground to self-funded, and the traditional levers for commercial growth are getting harder to pull. We're bringing this group together to explore the opportunities for building a more transparent, trustworthy, and innovative healthcare experience. Prevention is becoming one of the most important strategic priorities across healthcare, yet many organizations are still grappling with a fundamental question: who actually benefits financially when people stay healthier for longer? As healthcare systems shift toward earlier intervention, chronic disease prevention, and long-term population health management, the economics of prevention are drawing increasing attention from payers, employers, pharma companies, and digital health organizations alike. At the same time, new models are emerging across GLP-1s, wearable technologies, food-as-medicine programs, longevity platforms, metabolic health, and employer-sponsored prevention initiatives. While interest and investment continue to grow, organizations are still working through how to measure value, align incentives, and sustain programs that often require upfront investment before delivering long-term returns. This roundtable brings together leaders across healthcare, digital health, pharma, and employer ecosystems to explore the evolving economics of prevention and what it takes to make prevention models scalable, measurable, and commercially sustainable. The discussion will focus...

Women's health is receiving unprecedented attention from healthcare leaders, investors, and policymakers. From menopause and reproductive health to cardiovascular disease and AI-enabled care, innovation is accelerating across the sector. Yet much of the conversation continues to be shaped by models developed in Europe and North America, raising important questions about how these approaches translate across different healthcare systems and populations. As organizations work to expand access to women's health globally, they must navigate significant differences in healthcare infrastructure, cultural attitudes, care-seeking behaviours, workforce capacity, and affordability. What works in one market may not succeed in another, and scaling innovation requires more than simply exporting existing models of care. This roundtable brings together leaders across healthcare, life sciences, and digital health to explore how women's health can be scaled globally while maintaining quality, equity, and meaningful patient outcomes. Using menopause as one lens, the discussion will examine where global approaches need to adapt to local realities, what lessons can be shared across regions, and how he...

Part 1: Where Connected Care Creates Value Connected medical devices are no longer just therapeutic products. Increasingly, they are becoming a strategic response to the need to differentiate mature device portfolios as well as to changing care models. . As healthcare shifts toward more connected and longitudinal care, MedTech companies are rethinking how they create value beyond the device itself using software, connectivity, data, AI and the power of cloud services. The challenge is deciding where digital solutions create genuine strategic advantage and where they simply add cost, complexity, and regulatory burden. Medtech leaders are under growing pressure to justify investment in digital capabilities while aligning commercial, clinical, regulatory, and technology teams around a common vision. Success depends not only on the technology, but on building sustainable business models that deliver value for patients, providers, payers, and the Medtech organization itself. This masterclass explores how MedTech leaders are building the business case for connected care, where companies are creating sustainable competitive advantage, and what it takes to secure executive buy-in for digit...

Ask a health plan executive whether AI is mission-critical to their network strategy, and the answer is almost always yes. Ask what their provider data environment actually looks like, and the story changes fast. The environment is comprised of fragmented systems, manual workarounds, and core functions like directory updates, credentialing, and ghost provider detection still running by hand. That's the gap at the center of a new survey of 100 health plan executives, conducted by Becker's Healthcare and Quest Analytics®, strong confidence in AI's importance, sitting on top of an operational reality that isn't ready to support it. You can't automate what you haven't unified. In this webinar, we'll unveil these fresh survey findings live and unpack what they mean for health plans racing to invest in AI without a foundation to build on. You'll hear from our panelists, Subhash Seelam, Chief Data Officer, Nebojsa Milosavljevic, Data Science Team Lead, and a regional health plan executive, as they connect the dots between AI ambition, data readiness, and what executives should actually prioritize when evaluating enterprise solutions built to strengthen provider directory accuracy, credent...

It's about strategy.... -- Jul 28 2026
In health tech, the gap between AI winners and laggards isn't about technology. It's about strategy. As ambient clinical intelligence becomes table stakes, health tech leaders face a new challenge: how do you translate AI ambition into meaningful clinical and business impact? Health tech companies are racing to build clinical AI in-house without a clear business strategy, a path to clinician adoption, or a view of what end-users actually need. Pilots stall. Roadmaps drift. Competitive advantage never materializes. Join Suki and a panel of health tech leaders for a candid discussion on what separates organizations moving beyond pilots from those still stuck in experimentation. As ambient clinical intelligence evolves beyond documentation into decision support and care management, what are clinicians actually demanding? And how should product, strategy, and innovation leaders think about building versus partnering for capabilities that are advancing faster than most roadmaps can keep up with? Whether you’re shaping product strategy, evaluating AI investments, or defining your organization’s next competitive advantage, this session will leave you rethinking your AI strategy and ready...

As agentic AI begins to reshape how decisions are made across commercial, market access, and post-launch functions, pharma faces a fundamental question: what does “patient-centricity” actually mean in practice in this new scenario? Co-hosted by HLTH and Capgemini, this session moved beyond idealized narratives to explore how organizations are, balancing patient outcomes with revenue pressures, access constraints, and real-world trade-offs . We examined how AI-driven decision-making is challenging traditional commercial roles, redefining operating models, and forcing more explicit choices about who and what sits at the center. It was a candid, business-focused and honest debate on how AI is exposing and reshaping the gap between aspiration and reality, and what that means for future commercial models.

San Francisco-based Oura has filed a registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed initial public offering, marking the next stage in the smart ring company’s expansion as a preventive health and health intelligence platform. Oura plans to list its common stock on the Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “OURA.” The company has not yet disclosed the number of shares it intends to offer or an expected price range. The filing follows a confidential draft registration statement submitted to the SEC in May. Founded in Finland in 2013, Oura develops the Oura Ring, a wearable that continuously collects biometric information and provides users with insights across sleep, activity, stress, readiness, women’s health, metabolic health and heart health. The company has increasingly sought to position its technology beyond consumer wearables, with a broader focus on preventive health and longitudinal health data. Earlier in 2026, Oura introduced its fifth-generation device, Oura Ring 5. The ring is 40% smaller than its predecessor and incorporates updated sensors and software designed to combine users’ clinical histories with continuously collected biometric...

- [The Pulse: Cancer Is Getting Younger and More Female. What’s the Path Forward?](https://hlth.com/insights/articles/the-pulse-cancer-is-getting-younger-and-more-female-what-s-the-path-forward): The Pulse: Cancer Is Getting Younger and More Female. What’s the Path Forward?
Screening, therapeutics, and fertility are converging into a new paradigm in oncology care. Cancer mortality in the U.S. has declined by 34% between 1991 and 2023 , preventing an estimated 4.8 million deaths. And yet, adults under 50 are facing cancer diagnoses at an increasingly alarming rate. Women, in particular, are bearing the brunt of that rise. A 2025 report from the American Cancer Society found that the cancer incidence for women under 50 is 82% higher than for men the same age compared to 51% higher in 2002. “In that under 50 population, it's not equal,” Karen Knudsen, the CEO of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, tells HLTH in an interview for The Pulse . “If you take out the pediatric population and you define a young adult age 15 to 39, that's 88,000 new diagnoses this year alone. That's a lot of people.” Natasha McCants had no symptoms when she went in for a routine colorectal screening at 45. “I went overnight from seemingly healthy to being a stage III cancer patient,” she says, according to a testimonial provided by City of Hope . Breast cancer rates are rising nearly 1.5% each year for women under 50. Meanwhile, colorectal cancer rates are rising nearl...
- [Medicare GLP-1 Bridge: Why Lower Prices Still Fall Short](https://hlth.com/insights/articles/medicare-glp-1-bridge-why-lower-prices-still-fall-short): Medicare GLP-1 Bridge: Why Lower Prices Still Fall Short
Read original post here . July 1st will be a big day for me and for a lot of Medicare Part D beneficiaries. I start pulmonary and critical care fellowship. Medicare beneficiaries get a new pathway to access certain GLP-1s for weight loss or weight maintenance for $50 per fill. Both are exciting, though for very different reasons. But the Medicare piece deserves a closer look. Part D still does not cover GLP-1s when they’re used solely for weight loss, and this new $50 pathway sits outside the normal Part D benefit. In other words, the headline is simple. The policy is not. In this article, I’ll give a quick background on Medicare’s long-standing exclusion of weight-loss medications, explain the BALANCE and Bridge models, and break down what this means for patients, physicians, and the health system. Background on Weight Loss Medications Under CMS For two decades, Medicare Part D has prohibited coverage of weight-loss drugs, largely because of legitimate safety concerns at the time \(think fen-phen\). That policy was cemented in the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003. Fast forward 20+ years, and we now have remarkably effective and safe GLP-1s for p...
- [AI and Digital in Women's Health](https://hlth.com/insights/articles/ai-and-digital-in-women-s-health): AI and Digital in Women's Health
See original post here . Pharma digital partnerships in women's health are underrepresented. It features less often than other therapy areas, and where it does appear the activity tends to narrowly track drug companies' existing therapy areas and drug portfolios rather than women's health as a broader category. Encouragingly, though, pharma is starting to look beyond its tightly defined portfolios through a growing set of women's health accelerators. Breast cancer A lot is happening in this important area, which is clearly a good thing but the narrow focus does mean other women's therapy areas get missed. Digital tools are developing quickly. AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo partnered with Mika Health on UNITE , an AI-powered digital therapeutic for women in breast cancer treatment offering psychological support, medication tracking and personalised care, with promising early reductions in depression and fatigue. Novartis and Dawn Health partnered to offer digital support through Cora BC , a breast cancer app for symptom tracking, adherence and communication with the care team. It launched in Germany first but with plans to go global. Screening and diagnostics is the other key focus....
