Ellen is the Founder and CEO of Summer Health, the leading pediatric telehealth platform for longitudinal care. She was previously the Head of Business Development at hims&hers, focusing on strategic partnerships and growing the business. She is also an active angel investor as a Sequoia Scout in Seed and Series A consumer tech companies. Ellen obtained her MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School. During her time at HBS, she was a Partner at Rough Draft Ventures, the pre-seed fund of General Catalyst. Prior to business school, she managed a unit of the Business Operations team at Twitter. Previously, she worked at Barclays Capital. She co-authored the book Pitching & Closing: Everything You Need To Know About Business Development, Partnerships, and Making Deals that Matter, a guidebook to business development and revenue-generating partnerships at tech startups.

Ellen DaSilva

Launched in 2022, WellTheory was born out of Ellen’s autoimmune journey and the systemic shortcomings of traditional healthcare she encountered along the way. After personally battling autoimmune disease for nearly 5 years — and learning women account for 80% of all individuals suffering with an autoimmune disease, Ellen set out on a mission to reverse the autoimmune epidemic.
Helping women relieve their symptoms through holistic care, WellTheory understands the gravity of this growing epidemic and shares a mission of providing high-quality care to women who desperately need it. While there isn’t a true cure for autoimmune disease, Ellen examined the benefits of natural remedies which can lead to the decrease of autoimmune symptoms.. Through the natural remedy of nutrition, WellTheory is able to improve gut health, sleep quality, and manage stress for their members.
Under Ellen’s leadership, WellTheory has led thousands of members to a symptom free life, thanks to their holistic approach, WellTheory has gone above and beyond conventional treatments by addressing the root causes of autoimmune disease naturally.
Ellen’s company has raised $7.2M in funding to-date, and now offers both DTC and B2B autoimmune care. WellTheory most recently partnered with Maven under their newly launched enterprise solution, offering Maven’s workforce access to WellTheory’s autoimmune care offerings.

Ellen is president and CEO of Business Group on Health. She is a sought-after speaker and expert on health and well-being issues. Kelsay hosts the Business Group on Health podcast and has authored various industry publications including an article in Harvard Business Review on health equity, an op-ed in Modern Healthcare on value purchasing and an article in Pharmaceutical Executive on affordability and transparency for pharmacy transformation. She has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. She has delivered Congressional testimony and is frequently cited in the press.
