A.J. Loiacono

Adam leads ZS’s provider practice area, helping to transform hospitals and health systems and supporting them from strategy through to execution. He has extensive experience across healthcare with health plans, providers, pharmaceutical, biotech and medtech companies. Adam has also led ZS’s European and North America West regions.

For over 25 years, Adam has worked almost exclusively in healthcare across North America and Europe, helping transform healthcare organizations. A few of his areas of focus include optimizing patient care pathways; creating sustainability through innovations in value-based contracting and digital solutions; and in research and clinical development, where he leverages real-world data and partnerships in life sciences.

Adam’s background is in actuarial science. Before joining ZS, Adam worked with health plans and group insurance at Mercer, helping employer groups achieve high-quality and affordable healthcare.

Adam holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, and an H.SC in statistics and actuarial science.

AJ is a serial entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in pharmacy benefits, finance, and software development. As the CEO of Capital Rx, his mission is to upgrade America’s healthcare infrastructure to deliver the highest level of client service and patient engagement while reducing total cost of care. AJ has spent his career studying the pharmaceutical supply chain and developing solutions that have continually redefined the pharmacy benefit industry to achieve this goal. Before Capital Rx, AJ was a co-founder of Truveris, where he served for eight years as CEO, CIO, and a board member, leading the company to record growth (Deloitte FAST 500 and Crain’s Fast 50). Prior to Truveris, AJ co-founded SMS Partners, a joint venture with Realogy (RLGY), and in 2010 exited the partnership with a buyout. In his first venture, AJ started Victrix, a pharmaceutical supply chain consultancy, which was successfully sold to Chrysalis Solutions in 2007.

AJ is a graduate of Manhattanville College, where he studied finance while playing varsity soccer and rugby.

Abigail Buckwalter is Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Health Science U.S. (NHSc). Leading a team of more than 6,000 employees, Abigail is responsible for driving the strategic direction and growth of NHSc with a focus on developing nutrition solutions rooted in science. Throughout her time working within the Nestlé organization over the last two decades, Abigail has developed a strong belief in the organization’s purpose of empowering healthier lives through nutrition.

An integral leader at NHSc since its inception, Abigail brings a depth of experience to her role. She has built a proven track record of success, taking on increased leadership responsibilities in strategy and general management roles across Europe, Oceania, and the United States. Abigail most recently served as U.S. President of Active & Medical Nutrition and Global Head of Strategy, Marketing, and Innovation at NHSc. Abigail’s in-depth understanding of the businesses across the NHSc portfolio uniquely positioned her to drive cross-category growth for the organization. 
Under Abigail’s leadership, NHSc has achieved successful business turnarounds, culture development, and geographic expansion, as well as accelerated innovation, brand-building, and digital capabilities. Abigail has also driven significant improvements in operational efficiency, and spearheaded projects that have resulted in substantial revenue growth and market share expansion. Her diverse background, people-first approach, and entrepreneurial mindset fuel her ability to drive results for the business.

Prior to joining Nestlé, Abigail gained expertise early in her career at marketing and creative firms serving major brands and businesses across CPG, healthcare, non-profit and food service categories. She currently serves as Chair on the Board of Directors for Healthcare Nutrition Council and sits on the Executive Board of Directors for the Consumer Healthcare Products Association.
