Alexa Kimball

As Vice President of Real World Evidence (RWE) for Research Services, Alexandra (Alexa) Berk is the Global Head and domain leader for RWE at Oracle Life Sciences. In this role, Alexa leads an organization of nearly 200 cross-functional colleagues around the world with a shared goal of transforming drug development through the use of real world data and patient voices. 

With over 20 years of experience in clinical and observational research, Alexa started her career in academia (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center) and pharma (Novartis). Alexa blends subject matter expertise and business acumen, drawing from her career progression from designing and conducting research studies to leading scientific teams, to an executive owning life sciences services P&Ls at two Fortune 100 companies. 

In addition to leadership roles at large companies, Alexa has experience in building digital health and data businesses from the ground up. She was an early employee at Ciitizen (now Citizen Health), leading Ciitizen's go to market as a RWE platform for life sciences and was instrumental in driving their transformation from a Series A start-up to a $550M acquisition by medical genomics company Invitae in 2021. After the acquisition, Alexa took on a broader role at Invitae as the Medical Director for Digital Health and Data. 

Immediately prior to joining Oracle Life Sciences, Alexa led Life Sciences Solutions at CVS Health as Associate Vice President and General Manager, after initially joining CVS Health as Chief Scientific Officer for RWE in CVS Clinical Trial Services in 2022. Alexa was promoted after just one year at CVS into the role of GM to re-establish and build out CVS' Life Sciences Solutions following the closure of Clinical Trial Services. Alexa's leadership rebuilt CVS Life Sciences Solutions from a full shutdown to a thriving organization which met its revenue goals in its first year after relaunching.


Dr. Kimball is President and CEO of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC, a $1B academic multi-specialty 501(c)3 physician organization with more than 2400 employees. She co-chairs the Beth Israel Lahey Health Performance Network Board (1.3 million lives) and is on the Board of Trustees of BILH. A Professor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School, Dr. Kimball’s research focus is psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa (HS). She has published more than 375 papers, conducted over 150 clinical trials and has extensive experience in drug development and innovation, including two patents and multiple licensing agreements. Dr. Kimball is the author of "100 Questions and Answers about Psoriasis", "Hidradenitis Suppurativa: Your Questions, Expert Answers," and editor of "Dermatologic Diseases and Cumulative Life Course Impairment." 
Awards she has received include Modern Health Care's 50 Most Influential Clinical Executives, the American Skin Association Research Award for Health Policy and Medical Education, Mentor of the Year from the Women's Dermatologic Society, Outstanding Physician-Clinician Award from the National Psoriasis Foundation, Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Psoriasis Foundation, the Joseph B. Martin Dean's Leadership Award for the Advancement of Women Faculty at Harvard Medical School, and Extraordinary Women Advancing Healthcare in MA by the Women's Edge. She has served on the Boards of the Society for Investigative Dermatology, the MA Foundation for the Humanities and Public Policy, the HS Foundation, and the International Psoriasis Council. She received her MD from the Yale School of Medicine, her MPH from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and a bachelor's degree in molecular biology and public and international affairs from Princeton University.

Alan Silver is President of Ambetter Health Solutions business, which focuses on ICHRA (Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements). This newly created role reflects Centene's belief that consumers increasingly will seek health insurance that offers transparency, customization, choice, and convenience. ICHRA plans allow employees to shop on the individual Marketplace and choose the insurance plan that works best for them, using a tax-free stipend from their employer.

Silver brings more than two decades of leadership experience in benefits administration and actuarial consulting to the role, including a proven record of driving growth, developing client-focused benefit solutions and pioneering exchange-based healthcare strategies. Most recently, Silver led retiree medical and ICHRA initiatives at Willis Towers Watson. His expertise uniquely positions him to lead Ambetter's efforts in expanding and enhancing ICHRA offerings to meet and drive evolving market needs.
