Christina Valentine

Dr. Chris DeRienzo is a nationally recognized physician leader, health advocate, and fitness enthusiast committed to transforming healthcare and inspiring wellness at every level—from individuals to entire communities.

In his role as Chief Physician Executive of the American Hospital Association (AHA) and President of the AHA’s 501(c)3 affiliate Health Research & Educational Trust, Dr. DeRienzo leads national initiatives to improve healthcare delivery, strengthen hospitals, and promote innovation across the nation’s health systems. A passionate advocate for health improvement, he is a frequent spokesperson on critical clinical issues impacting communities nationwide.

Throughout his career, Dr. DeRienzo has focused on improving healthcare quality and innovation. At WakeMed Health and Hospitals, he helped guide the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing to its consistent recognition for safety and quality with A/A/A Leapfrog designations. At Mission Health, his innovative use of data analytics earned the system recognition as an IBM Watson Top 15 Health System in 2017 and 2018.

Dr. DeRienzo holds dual board certifications in pediatrics and neonatology and serves as an Adjunct Professor of Pediatrics at Duke University. In addition to his work at the AHA, he also serves as a Board Member for Mednition and as an Advisor to Concord Health Partners.

Dr. Christina J. Valentine is a Physician and Dietitian who advocates for dietary strategies that create proven results in immune health and aims to disrupt morbidity and costs due to malnutrition.
As the Chief Medical Officer for Kate Farms, she leads the scientific and clinical strategy behind our plant-based, organic formulas and shakes. Dr. Valentine’s work ensures they are clinically developed and grounded in research - held to the highest standards to support people with health needs and help them live their best lives.
Her nutrition work spans 30+ years and she is currently a Professor in Pediatrics and Nutrition at the University of Arizona where she clinically practices as a neonatologist. Most recently, her study with omega 3 DHA in pregnancy reduced preterm birth!
Finally, she is passionate about training health care providers on nutrition.

‍Dr. Chevon Rariy is a physician-executive, healthcare innovator, recognized industry thought leader and board member.
She is a Harvard-trained physician and healthcare technology executive with 17+ years of experience in Big Tech, including Oncology Care Partners, Amazon Care and Takeda Digital Ventures.

She joined Visana Health in February 2025 with a track record of driving digital health transformation efforts and leveraging value-based models to drive better outcomes, elevate patient experiences, and improve cost efficiency. 

As Visana Health’s first Chief Clinical Innovation Officer, Dr. Rariy leads clinical strategy and innovation to create a more comprehensive women’s healthcare model across gynecology, hormonal health, and comorbid chronic conditions—including weight management, hypertension, diabetes, and thyroid disorders. Combining her expertise in clinical innovation, digital transformation and value-based care, Dr. Rariy will also oversee Visana Health’s efforts to establish a center of excellence for women’s healthcare. She is based in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
