Ellen Kelsay

Ellen is the Founder and CEO of Summer Health, the leading pediatric telehealth platform for longitudinal care. She was previously Head of Business Development at hims&hers and is an active angel investor as a Sequoia Scout. Ellen obtained her MBA with Distinction from Harvard Business School, where she was a Partner at Rough Draft Ventures. She previously held roles at Twitter and Barclays Capital, and co-authored Pitching & Closing, a guide to business development at tech startups.

Ellen is president and CEO of Business Group on Health. She is a sought-after speaker and expert on health and well-being issues. Kelsay hosts the Business Group on Health podcast and has authored various industry publications. She frequently contributes on an array of critical topics such as health care affordability, prescription drug pricing, transparency, well-being, mental health, health inclusion and innovation across the U.S. and globally. She has been recognized by Modern Healthcare as one of the 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare. She has delivered Congressional testimony and is frequently cited in the press.

In addition to her role leading Business Group on Health, Ellen holds leadership roles across the health care industry including as Chair, National Board of Trustees for March of Dimes and as a Board member of The Leapfrog Group. 

Ellen has a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and business administration from the University of Richmond and is a graduate of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. 

Dr. Elina Berglund Scherwitzl is the co-founder and co-CEO of Natural Cycles, the women’s health company behind the world’s first FDA Cleared birth control app. A former particle physicist and member of the CERN team that discovered the Higgs boson—a breakthrough that ultimately led to the 2013 Nobel Prize in Physics —Elina brought her scientific expertise to women’s health by developing the proprietary algorithm behind the NC° Birth Control app. Registered as a Class II medical device in the U.S., the app uses biometric data to determine a woman’s daily fertility status and has been reviewed and approved by regulatory bodies across the U.S., Europe, Canada, and beyond. Under Elina’s leadership, Natural Cycles has evolved into a profitable, mission-driven company with over four million registered users worldwide. Beyond birth control, the platform now supports women through perimenopause, postpartum, and other under-addressed phases of the health journey. Elina remains a passionate advocate for leveraging science and technology to transform and personalize women’s health care.
