Kameron Matthews

I serve as the System Vice President for Innovation and Research at Endeavor Health (formerly NorthShore—Edward-Elmhurst Health), Illinois’ third-largest health system. Since joining Endeavor Health in 2010 as a fellow, I've held leadership roles across radiology, laboratory medicine, and hospital operations. I now serve as the administrative lead of the Mark R. Neaman Center for Personalized Medicine—the largest clinical genomics-based program in the country—the Davis Family Center for Preventive Genomics, the Endeavor Health Research Institute, and the Grainger Center for Simulation and Innovation.
 
I am passionate about healthcare innovation and how health systems leverage their unique position to drive a multiplier effect, helping transform our industry for our patients, team members and communities. Current areas of focus include advancing clinical genomics as part of routine care, fostering partnerships across the industry and accelerating innovation through data, care enablement, workforce empowerment and enhanced omnichannel access.

Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my best friend and wife, Julie, and our six children.  I’m often found near a soccer field as a coach, biking with little people in tow, or tickling the ivories thanks to my parents’ love of music. 

Kameron Leigh Matthews MD, JD, FAAFP is the Chief Health Officer of Cityblock Health, a transformative, value-based healthcare provider integrating medical, behavioral, and social services for Medicaid and dually eligible, low-income Medicare beneficiaries. She previously led transformational efforts at the Veterans Health Administration focused on integrated, Veteran-centered models of care including the implementation of the MISSION Act of 2018 and the EHR modernization effort. She is Senior Faculty with the Weitzman Insitute, and Associate Clinical Professor - Volunteer with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at University of California at San Francisco. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine where she chairs the Health Policy Fellowships and Leadership Programs Advisory Committee and is a member of the Standing Committee on Primary Care. She is a member of the sixth class of the Aspen Institute's Health Innovators Fellowship. She co-chairs the Health System and Provider Advisory Board of the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI). As a passion outside of work, she co-founded and directs the Tour for Diversity in Medicine (T4D), an initiative seeking to bring premedical enrichment activities to underrepresented minority high school and undergraduate students across the country. She completed her bachelor's degree at Duke University, her medical degree at Johns Hopkins University, and her law degree at the University of Chicago. She is currently located in Washington, DC, where she lives with her husband Mazi.

Dr. Joseph Coughlin, or as he is called by industry friends, “Dr. Joe,” is the founder and director of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology AgeLab. Researcher, teacher, advisor, and speaker – his work explores how global demographics, technology, and changing behaviors are transforming business & society. He teaches in MIT’s Department of Urban Studies & Planning. Coughlin advises major companies worldwide, the World Economic Forum, OECD, and has served on advisory committees for the White House and several federal agencies. He was named one of the “100 Most Creative in Business” by Fast Company Magazine, one of Investment News “Icons & Innovators,” and earlier this year, he was awarded Investment Wealth Institute’s Investment Consulting Impact Award for his development of longevity planning. Coughlin is a Senior Contributor to Forbes and the author of over 250 academic publications. His best-selling book, The Longevity Economy: Unlocking the World’s Fastest Growing, Most Misunderstood Market (Public Affairs, 2017), is on the reading lists of Fortune 500 corporate boards and executive leadership.
