Laura Modi

As a CEO and mother of two, Kara is driven to create solutions that value a woman’s time. She leads a passionate team at Teal Health, on a mission to develop a more equitable and accessible future for women’s healthcare, starting with cervical cancer. By creating the option for a woman to screen for cervical cancer from the comfort of home and providing telehealth follow-up, Teal can increase access to this life-saving cancer screening. Kara has spent her career at the intersection of healthcare and technology as a health tech investor (.406 Ventures), a software investor (Emergence Capital), and an operator at tech companies (Zendesk). Most recently, Teal Health announced FDA approval of the Teal WandTM, the first FDA-approved at-home cervical cancer screening. This includes both an at-home self-collection device and a telehealth platform to make it easy for women to order a kit, learn of their results, speak with a Teal medical provider, and be referred to any in-person follow-up care at a local OBGYN office. 


Laura Modi is the Founder and CEO of Bobbie, the only mom-founded and led pediatric nutrition company and the third-largest fully integrated infant formula manufacturer in the U.S. As a mother of four, Modi is on a mission to fundamentally reform the infant formula industry—setting higher nutritional standards, increasing transparency, and driving accountability in a historically opaque and under-regulated space.

In the wake of the 2022 infant formula crisis, Modi refused to accept the status quo. She launched Bobbie for Change, the company’s social good and advocacy arm, to champion the issues that matter most to modern parents—including better nutritional standards by the FDA, paid parental leave, and the maternal health crisis. Under her leadership, Bobbie has become a platform for systemic change, pushing the industry toward more rigorous, science-backed, and parent-centric standards.

Modi has spent the last two years working alongside lawmakers to co-create and introduce the 'Infant Formula Made in America Act', a landmark piece of legislation aimed at ensuring greater domestic resilience, safety, and access to infant nutrition. She is simultaneously growing Bobbie and reshaping an industry to make sure a nationwide shortage never happens again.

To date, Bobbie has nourished over 500,000 American babies. Modi has been recognized as a TIME Woman of the Year and a CNBC Changemaker, hailed as a disruptive force in a $90 billion global industry that has long prioritized profits over parents.

Before founding Bobbie, Modi held executive roles at Airbnb and Google Finance. Originally from Westport, Ireland, she now lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and four children—Mary, Colin, Owen, and Etta.

Kameron Leigh Matthews MD, JD, FAAFP is the Chief Health Officer of Cityblock Health, a transformative, value-based healthcare provider integrating medical, behavioral, and social services for Medicaid and dually eligible, low-income Medicare beneficiaries. She previously led transformational efforts at the Veterans Health Administration focused on integrated, Veteran-centered models of care including the implementation of the MISSION Act of 2018 and the EHR modernization effort. She is Senior Faculty with the Weitzman Insitute, and Associate Clinical Professor - Volunteer with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at University of California at San Francisco. She is an elected member of the National Academy of Medicine where she chairs the Health Policy Fellowships and Leadership Programs Advisory Committee and is a member of the Standing Committee on Primary Care. She is a member of the sixth class of the Aspen Institute's Health Innovators Fellowship. She co-chairs the Health System and Provider Advisory Board of the Coalition for Health AI (CHAI). As a passion outside of work, she co-founded and directs the Tour for Diversity in Medicine (T4D), an initiative seeking to bring premedical enrichment activities to underrepresented minority high school and undergraduate students across the country. She completed her bachelor's degree at Duke University, her medical degree at Johns Hopkins University, and her law degree at the University of Chicago. She is currently located in Washington, DC, where she lives with her husband Mazi.
