Sonia Garcia

Shika Pappoe, MD, MPH, MBA is a 4D thinker. As CEO of MitoKhon Advisors, she is focused on synthesizing long-term vision into short-term strategy. With a demonstrated track record as a systems thinker, she excels at distilling complex large-scale themes into practical, on-the-ground solutions.

She is a visionary physician executive leader, nephrologist, and expert in value-based care, with a deep commitment to transforming healthcare delivery through innovation and patient-centered design. Trained at Yale School of Medicine, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, she brings a rare and powerful combination of clinical expertise, public health insight, and business acumen. Her work is grounded in the principles of the quintuple aim: improving population health, enhancing the patient experience, reducing healthcare costs, supporting clinician well-being, and promoting health equity.

As the founding Chief Medical Officer of Strive Health, Dr. Pappoe successfully built and scaled a pioneering organization that redefined kidney care delivery. Her ability to blend strategic vision with operational execution has positioned her as a recognized leader in the healthcare industry, with additional roles at CareMore, Hill Physicians, and Carna Health.

Dr. Pappoe is deeply passionate about improving the patient experience and rebuilding trust in the healthcare system. She believes in the power of meaningful engagement to create care models that resonate with patients and communities, fostering equity and sustainability in care delivery. Her work is guided by the core tenets of social impact, leveraging her expertise to drive initiatives and investments that advance systemic change and improve the health of underserved populations.

Believing in the importance of lifting others to serve as leaders, she also advises graduate students and healthcare startups and serves as an angel investor.

Sonia Garcia is the co-founder and Chief Growth Officer of Amae Health. Her passion for transforming mental health care is deeply personal—after losing her father to suicide at 16 and navigating her brother’s battle with schizoaffective disorder, she became committed to driving change in the space. She began by launching a nonprofit in partnership with NAMI Texas, supporting young adults living with mental health conditions. Sonia holds an M.S. in Engineering from Stanford University's d.school, where she was a Knight-Hennessy Scholar. Her thesis focused on human-centered innovation in mental health. Prior to co-founding Amae Health, she played a pivotal role in building Brightline, the nation’s first digital pediatric behavioral health company. Recognized as one of Business Insider's 30 under 40 in Healthcare and named to Inc.’s Female Founders list for 2025, Sonia is shaping the future of behavioral health through her leadership, advocacy, and commitment to compassionate, high-quality care.

Shefali Razdan Duggal served as U.S. Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands
from 2022–2025. She is the first person of color to serve as AMB to NL. Shefali is a
member of the Council on Foreign Relations, Council of American Ambassadors,
Foreign Policy for America and a Board Member of the Netherlands America
Foundation. Shefali is a Creative Artists Agency speaker.
On International Women’s Day 2024, the Dutch named a fuchsia -pink tulip, the “Tulipa
Shefali,” making her the first ambassador to NL to receive this tribute. She was
nominated for the State Department’s Sue M. Cobb Award for Exemplary Diplomatic
Service—the first U.S. Ambassador to the Netherlands to receive this nomination.
From 2014–2020, she served on the National Board of EMILY’s List. She was appointed
by President Obama to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum Council (2014–2018).
She has held leadership roles in numerous national political campaigns.
