Firdaus Bhathena is the Chief Digital Officer of AETNA, where he is responsible for Aetna’s digital strategy, as well as product management, architecture, engineering, delivery, customer engagement, and operations for market-leading digital experiences. In addition, he is responsible for Aetna’s data, technology platform, and cloud strategy and execution, for establishing and executing on key partnerships with leading technology and consumer-centric companies, and for analyzing the competitive environment to fine-tune Aetna’s digital strategy.
Firdaus has extensive experience in technology entrepreneurship and delivering world-class enterprise and consumer software products at scale. He was the co-founder of venture-backed software startups that were acquired by Cisco Systems and Symantec, and has nine patents in software and distributed systems to his name. Firdaus earned BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, both from MIT in Cambridge, MA, where he was a Henry Ford II scholar for “exceptional potential for leadership in technology” and won the MIT $50K Entrepreneurship Business Plan Competition.
