Ricky Bloomfield

Amy Compton-Phillips, MD, is the executive vice president and chief medical officer at CVS Health®. She leads the company’s clinical strategy and medical affairs organization, with a focus on delivering high-quality, accessible care and improving health outcomes across the CVS Health enterprise and its assets.
Amy has more than 30 years of clinical and operational experience, with a track record of driving transformation, including leadership roles at major health systems and in performance improvement consulting. Most recently, she served as president and chief physician executive at Press Ganey, where she guided provider organizations and health plans through system-wide clinical transformation.

Prior to Press Ganey, Amy served as president of clinical care at Providence, a national healthcare system, overseeing clinical operations across 51 hospitals and more than 1,000 clinics. Earlier in her career, she spent over two decades at Kaiser Permanente, where she held several leadership positions, including serving as chief quality officer.

Amy is a board-certified internist who has previously served on the boards of national health organizations including HIMSS and WellCare, and currently serves on the board of the Institute for Systems Biology. She served as a medical analyst for CNN, where she communicated critical public health guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Johns Hopkins University and a medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine.

Ricky Bloomfield, MD, is Oura’s Chief Medical Officer, where he sets the vision for Oura’s global healthcare programs and partnerships, guides the company through ever-changing healthcare regulations and leads the company’s expansion in healthcare solutions. He also enables cross-functional collaboration across the organization to drive the direction of new hardware and software features to scale healthcare ambitions.

Dr. Bloomfield brings expertise in medicine, digital health, clinical informatics, and navigating the U.S. healthcare system. He joins Oura from Apple, where he served as Clinical and Health Informatics Lead. During his tenure, Dr. Bloomfield led the launch of several features, including Apple’s Health Records on iPhone and iPad.

Before joining Apple, Dr. Bloomfield was the director of Mobile Technology Strategy at Duke University Health System, where he explored the world of clinical informatics, the intersection of technology and healthcare. There, he discovered a problem worth solving: health data interoperability. To address this, he led a team to implement the first API on an Epic-based electronic health record (EHR) that used the emerging FHIR standard, with the goal of helping patients, clinicians, and researchers easily access health-record data. At Duke, he also collaborated on the largest app-based autism research study of its kind and worked as a hospitalist in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

Dr. Melynda Barnes is responsible for Ro's clinical strategy and the quality and patient safety initiatives on its vertically integrated primary care platform. In providing clinical leadership for Ro, she also oversees the clinical product strategy, shaping the company's proprietary EMR and technology tools it offers providers, and physical product innovation, supporting the development of new health and wellness products.
Since joining Ro in 2018, Dr. Barnes has helped transform Ro from a telehealth platform treating a single condition to a vertically integrated platform that seamlessly connects telehealth and pharmacy services nationwide. She is a triple board-certified Obesity Medicine, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon, and Otolaryngologist. In addition to her leadership role at Ro, Dr. Barnes was an attending physician at Harlem Hospital where she was honored with the Top Doctor Award for New York State in 2018. Dr. Barnes earned her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her medical degree from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she was a Doris Duke Clinical Research Fellow. Prior to Ro, she was also an Assistant Professor of Surgery-Otolaryngology at Yale School of Medicine and served on Yale Medical Group's Board of Directors.
Dr. Barnes has been recognized as one of Business Insider's 30 under 40 in Healthcare, Crain's New York Notable Black Executives, Fierce Healthcare's Most Influential Minority Executives and a 40 Under 40 Leader in Health. She has been invited to speak at Harvard Business School and the American Telemedicine Association National Conference, and has been featured in Fast Company, Axios, Fortune, Forbes, Shape and more. Dr. Barnes is also a founding member of CHIEF, a network of female executives, and is on the board of the Fund for Public Health in New York City.

Melynda Barnes
