Digital mental health resources play an essential role in Australia’s healthcare system, but clinicians often struggle to find the right tool for a specific client among the thousands available. e-Mental Health in Practice (eMHPrac) has tackled this challenge with a major update to its website, introducing new features designed to help GPs, allied health professionals, and service providers navigate the digital mental health ecosystem more effectively.
At the heart of the overhaul is an enhanced digital Mental Health (dMH) Directory, a powerful search engine that allows practitioners to filter tools by resource type (such as apps, websites, and online programs), topic (including anxiety, depression, and trauma), intended audience (adults, youth, Indigenous communities), and function (assessment, treatment, or self-help). This refined search capability helps clinicians quickly identify evidence-based options that fit a client’s care plan—making it easier to recommend appropriate tools during consultations.
The updated website also includes an expanded library of resources for both clinicians and clients. Practitioners can access educational materials to strengthen their understanding of digital mental health and blended care models, while also finding client-friendly resources that can be shared directly. Whether introducing digital tools to hesitant patients or seeking professional development, the new platform is designed to support clinicians at every stage.
