Maven Clinic is expanding its maternity program to deliver more precise, personalized pregnancy care through remote monitoring and enhanced NICU support. The expansion introduces new capabilities that identify early risks and help manage complications, along with a NICU program designed to prepare parents and reduce babies’ hospital stays.
According to Chief Medical Officer Neel Shah, M.D., Maven’s goal is to move beyond a “cookie-cutter” approach by using richer, real-time data from wearables such as blood pressure cuffs and glucose monitors. The data, integrated with members’ health records, helps detect conditions like gestational diabetes and preeclampsia early. Maven already partners with Oura and Apple Health and recently added a new data partner that connects to a wide range of medical devices.
The company is also working with a national electronic health record vendor to securely access members’ medical information—with consent—across healthcare systems and health information exchanges. These integrations enable a more holistic, proactive approach to maternity care.
Maven’s new NICU program focuses on family readiness for discharge, offering personalized plans, 24/7 expert access, and educational support. The program aims to shorten NICU stays by up to 8%, saving employers an estimated $5,500 per stay. Overall, Maven reports that families using its platform experience up to 27% fewer NICU stays and 15% fewer C-sections, with employers saving about $9,600 per birth.
