Surescripts has introduced Script Corner, a new patient experience solution designed to improve access, affordability, and adherence by bringing prescription benefit data, medication management, and personalized engagement into a single digital experience. As part of the launch, Surescripts has formed an exclusive partnership with GoodRx to incorporate discounted cash prices alongside insurance-based pricing, expanding patient visibility into medication costs at the moment a prescription is written.
Script Corner has been positioned as a mobile-friendly web application that connects patients directly to prescription pricing information after an electronic prescription is transmitted by a participating health system. Patients receive a secure text message with a personalized link that allows them to review prescription details and compare pricing options across pharmacies. The solution provides visibility into insurance copays, GoodRx discounted cash prices, and other available savings programs, enabling patients to select the most affordable option before arriving at the pharmacy.
Frank Harvey, Chief Executive Officer of Surescripts, said, “We believe the future of healthcare is personalized, connected, and truly patient-driven.” He added, “Our new Script Corner product is a bold step toward that future, empowering patients with price transparency and giving them the freedom to select the pharmacy and savings options that work best for them, including discounted cash prices through our partnership with GoodRx.”
All pharmacies are automatically included through Surescripts’ existing electronic prescribing network, eliminating the need for separate enrollment to ensure pricing is displayed. Over time, Surescripts plans to expand Script Corner with additional patient-facing capabilities, including medication management tools, enrollment support for assistance programs, and personalized adherence alerts. Initial availability is planned through select health systems in Illinois and Texas in late January, with broader rollout expected throughout 2026.
From the GoodRx perspective, the partnership has focused on reaching patients at a critical decision point. Wendy Barnes, President and CEO of GoodRx, said, “By eliminating cost surprises earlier than ever, we help more patients start and stay on therapy and ensure affordability programs reach the patients they’re intended to serve.”
The introduction of Script Corner has also addressed broader ecosystem challenges, including prescription abandonment driven by out-of-pocket costs. Survey data cited by the companies indicate that cost concerns frequently lead patients to delay or change prescriptions. By closing gaps between prescribing and pickup, Surescripts and GoodRx have positioned Script Corner as a tool to improve transparency, reduce friction at the pharmacy counter, and support more consistent medication adherence across the healthcare system.
