Amperos Health has closed a $16 million Series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners, with participation from Uncork Capital and Neo. The financing follows a $4.2 million seed round completed in June 2025 and will support the company’s expansion across revenue cycle management (RCM) workflows and analytics capabilities.
The company has introduced an AI-native, end-to-end denial management platform designed to address inefficiencies in healthcare claims processing. Leveraging agentic AI, including large language models with computer and voice capabilities, the platform independently navigates payer portals, conducts insurer calls, and submits corrected claims. This approach contrasts with traditional tools that focus narrowly on appeal drafting or predictive scoring.
Amperos combines automation with a human-in-the-loop model, where subject matter experts oversee complex cases requiring nuanced judgment. Its system manages the full denial lifecycle, including insurance follow-ups, submission of medical records, and appeals processing, while continuously refining its performance by benchmarking against human specialists.
The platform targets a significant financial challenge in healthcare: in 2024, approximately 12% of claims were denied, contributing to an estimated $262 billion in provider losses. Staffing shortages and turnover in RCM teams have compounded the issue, limiting recovery efforts.
Early operational data highlights measurable gains for providers:
Claim recovery rates are 20% to 22% higher than traditional outsourced vendors
Cost to collect is reduced by up to 50%
Denials are resolved five times faster, with overall denial rates reduced by 70%
The platform supports more than 3,000 clinical locations and recovers nearly $700 million annually
At DOCS Dermatology, the impact has been reflected in improved productivity without workforce expansion, with leadership reporting a 24% increase in recovered claims.
“Complexity in healthcare revenue cycle management should not be the norm, and that’s why our mission at Amperos is to streamline the denial and collections process so providers can focus on what matters most,” said Michal Miernowski, CEO and Co-Founder of Amperos Health.
The company’s strategy focuses on augmenting existing RCM teams, allowing staff to prioritize high-complexity claims while AI handles high-volume administrative processes.
