Deepscribe Partners With Flatiron Health On Oncology-Focused Ambient AI

DeepScribe, an AI-enabled clinical documentation tool for healthcare providers, is partnering with oncology-focused digital health company Flatiron Health to integrate its AI documentation capabilities with Flatiron's OncoEMR, a cloud-based electronic medical record platform. DeepScribe's ambient AI is optimized for oncology, understanding workflows, terminology, and nuances of cancer care to automatically generate structured clinical notes. It pulls key contextual information from previous visits, understands interval history from current conversations, and organizes plans with relevant ICD-10 diagnosis codes.

The AI-generated notes automatically populate patient charts within OncoEMR for clinician review, streamlining workflows. This partnership establishes DeepScribe as Flatiron Health's first ambient AI solution partner. The integration will enable providers across 800+ U.S. cancer care locations in Flatiron's network to reduce charting time and foster stronger patient connections.

Matthew Ko, DeepScribe CEO and cofounder, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, "We are thrilled to partner with Flatiron and help them continue having a meaningful impact on cancer care. The seamless integration with OncoEMR helps ensure clinicians have the time and information to connect with patients."

Nina Chavez, Flatiron’s VP of strategic partnerships, emphasized the transformative role of AI tools in care, adding, "We're excited to bring DeepScribe's AI documentation tools to our providers, reducing administrative burdens and enabling more meaningful patient time."

Recently, DeepScribe also partnered with Pearl Health as the preferred ambient AI partner for over 3,500 primary care providers and collaborated with CardioOne to provide AI scribe technology to its network. In 2022, DeepScribe raised $30 million in funding, led by Index Ventures.

Flatiron Health, acquired by Roche in 2018 for $1.9 billion, continues expanding collaborations. Last year, it partnered with the Association of Cancer Care Centers to improve clinical trial access and data collection and worked with Willowglade Technologies to enhance patient-centered care with its Unified Digital Patient Experience Platform.
