Harnessing over 19 terabytes of healthcare data generated each year can power crucial progress in population and individual health, prevention of epidemics, research to cure disease, cut costs, patient engagement, prevention of opioid use, and the list goes on. Yet, despite the rise in data, our overall health is not improving. What if the billions of clinical data points were interconnected to create patient personas available for use by clinicians, given similarities in age, comorbidities, medications, vitals, and other data? Such technical abilities could enable doctors to see past treatments and outcomes to support clinical decisions. In this session, panelists will focus on the use of real-world data and real-world evidence to improve healthcare decision-making and patient outcomes.
