Patients Know Best has announced a new partnership with Yorkshire-based tech consultancy 6B to develop custom integrations with NHS Electronic Patient Record (EPR) systems, aiming to enhance operational efficiencies.
The primary objective for 6B will be to design tailored integrations with various EPR systems, including EMIS, SystmOne, and Vision.
Patients Know Best offers a patient engagement platform that gathers data from multiple sources and provides tools for patient-clinician interactions. Its mission is to empower patients and healthcare organisations by ensuring that each patient possesses their health information, understands its significance, and utilises it for shared decision-making with healthcare professionals, as well as family and caregivers.
The custom integrations by 6B will eliminate the need for manual patient authentication by GPs and enable the provision of real-time bulk data, including demographics, observations, medications, allergies, and appointments.
The integration aims to enhance the functionality of the Patients Know Best platform, leading to increased operational efficiencies. Consequently, this could result in cost savings, reduced duplication, streamlined interactions to boost capacity, and ensure comprehensive multidisciplinary care for patients.
Moreover, the integration is expected to deliver a more seamless and personalised experience for patients.
Several NHS organisations, including Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust, and Mid and South Essex Integrated Care System, have recently adopted Patients Know Best's personal health record solutions.
