Virtual specialty care platform Summus has secured $19.5 million in funding, increasing its total funding to $70 million.
Summus offers a virtual care platform focusing on specialty care, connecting primary care and in-plan specialist providers to a specialist network. The funds will be used to support the company's growth and innovation efforts.
Previously, Summus received a $22 million strategic investment from the Glenstone Foundation and Mitchell Rales, the co-founder of Danaher Corporation. They also secured $21 million in a Series B round less than a year ago.
Healthy ageing platform Bold has raised $17 million in Series A funding led by Rethink Impact, bringing its total funding to $27 million. Samsung Next and existing investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, also participated in the round. Bold partners with Medicare plans and providers to offer virtual exercise programs to prevent falls, increase physical activity, and reduce musculoskeletal pain and disability among members.
The new funds will be used to expand its exercise offerings and support expansion with national and regional provider groups and Medicare plans. Jenny Abramson, founder of Rethink Impact, will join Bold's board of directors, emphasising the importance of innovative, evidence-based solutions for the aging population and the healthcare system.
