About this Session:
Our FDA Commissioner publicly declared that digital health tools are developing faster than the FDA is able to keep up. When they are constantly playing catch up, it delays the speed at which patients can benefit from new innovations. Past keeping pace with digital health, the FDA is falling behind in incorporating real world evidence into their drug evaluations, often leading them to rely on data from other countries. At a time where criticism on drug approvals is high, it’s crucial that we adapt and change course. It’s also imperative to recognize the true role, or lack thereof, of the FDA in addressing bigger economic issues within our health industry that do not fall within their purview. It’s easy to play the blame game, but more effective to work collaboratively on a solution. Updates are available!
