Child-Proof Care Models

Across urgent care, primary care and complex pediatric specialties, there is an urgent need for innovation compared to treating older populations. Children represent approximately 23% of the national population but less than 10% of national healthcare expenditures, and as we know, without a clear financial incentive behind innovation, not much happens. To make matters worse, between 2019 and 2021, the overall pediatric mortality rate increased by more than 18%. Advances in digital health technologies to enhance care integration and address unmet needs in chronic conditions and overall child wellness were needed yesterday. Many have answered the call and are actively fostering partnerships and leveraging new technologies to achieve better clinical outcomes, remove barriers and increase utilization rates for our pediatric patients.
