The Internet of Things (IoT), the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), and Operational Technology (OT), collectively and often referred to as Healthcare IoT, have become critical elements of healthcare delivery. But while these technologies have innovated patient care, the sheer volume of devices, software, applications, and care systems also carry unintended consequences in terms of security and privacy risks. The current state of device security is untenable and made worse by longstanding myths and vendor promises to solve a problem that, in reality, does not have a full solution. This session will cover the specific challenges to securing digital tech within the healthcare sector and what's needed from network defenders to prioritize risk and bolster cyber hygiene. Through use cases, clinical engineer experience, and current work with clients, Matt will target misconceptions in an effort to shift perspectives into tangible solutions. Speaker: Matt Dimino, Chief Security Officer of Clinical and Operational Security & Technology @ First Health Advisory
