Abbott and WeightWatchers introduce connected app for type 2 diabetes

During the ADA's annual scientific sessions in San Diego, Abbott and Weight Watchers introduced their new connected app experience designed for individuals living with Type 2 diabetes.

The app integrates crucial glucose data from Abbott's FreeStyle Libre 2 continuous glucose monitoring system into the WeightWatchers app, enabling users to understand the impact of food and activity on their glucose levels.

The WeightWatchers x Abbott Connected Experience boasts several noteworthy features. The Glucose Card allows users to view their current glucose levels and Time-in-Range for the day, providing real-time insights. The Glucose Tab offers a comprehensive overview of current glucose levels, daily readings, and a glucose event log, highlighting readings that fall outside the target range and correlating them with specific meals or activities.

The Time in Range Tab enables users to track three different Time-in-Range values (Today, Last 14 Days, Last Month), offering both a daily snapshot and a broader perspective on glucose management.

With this new connected app, Abbott and Weight Watchers aim to empower individuals with Type 2 diabetes to take control of their health by providing them with valuable information and tools to make informed decisions regarding their diet, physical activity, and overall well-being.
