Aidoc Secures $150M to Expand Clinical AI Platform Beyond Radiology

Clinical AI company Aidoc has closed a $150 million financing round as it positions itself to transform healthcare decision-making across multiple specialties. The funding, led by General Catalyst and Square Peg with participation from Nvidia's venture arm NVentures, brings the company's total funding to $370 million and includes a $40 million revolving credit facility.

Four major U.S. health systems—Sutter Health, Hartford, Mercy and WellSpan—joined as strategic investors, signaling strong provider confidence in Aidoc's enterprise AI platform. The company currently supports care for more than 45 million patients annually across over 150 health systems and aims to reach 100 million patients within three years.

Founded in 2016, Aidoc has built its reputation in radiology with 18 FDA-cleared algorithms. The company is now expanding its reach into cardiology, neurovascular, vascular and plans to enter oncology. Central to this expansion is CARE (Clinical AI Reasoning Engine), Aidoc's foundation model that has already powered two FDA-cleared solutions, including its CADt AI solution for rib fracture triage approved in February.

"Our mission is to reduce diagnostic errors and improve patient outcomes," said Elad Walach, CEO of Aidoc. "CARE compresses decades of roadmap into years—bringing forward a future where AI supports every patient encounter, helping physicians provide the care they believe their patients deserve."

The investment will accelerate development of aiOS, Aidoc's enterprise-grade AI operating system that enables health systems to deploy and govern multiple AI solutions. The platform hosts both Aidoc and third-party solutions, with 69% of customers currently running non-Aidoc models on the platform. This open ecosystem approach reflects a broader industry trend toward interoperable AI infrastructure in healthcare.

Strategic collaborations with Amazon Web Services and Nvidia strengthen Aidoc's technical foundation. The company plans to invest more than $150 million to bring CARE to market, leveraging high-performance computing and AI development platforms. With Nvidia, Aidoc developed BRIDGE guidelines for AI implementation to standardize adoption across health systems.

Recent enterprise deployments at Advocate Health and Sutter Health demonstrate growing provider adoption. "In one year, Aidoc has helped our radiologists to analyze more than 200,000 cases, making efficient the work of scanning what can sometimes be thousands of images per case, leading to a significant reduction of critical diagnosis delays," said Roxanna Gapstur, Ph.D., president and chief executive of WellSpan Health.

Looking ahead, Aidoc expects CARE to cover 90% of clinically relevant diseases within three years. "Foundation models will soon be as ubiquitous in healthcare as ChatGPT is in general use. Building is an enormous lift—it requires top-tier talent, powerful infrastructure, deep real-world insight and sustained funding. Success isn't guaranteed, but we believe we're in a unique position to bring this vision to life, and we feel a deep responsibility to do so," said Michael Braginsky, cofounder and chief technology officer of Aidoc.
