AireHealth's respiratory health assets to be auctioned off in September

The complete assets of AireHealth, a company specialising in respiratory health solutions, will be up for auction on September 13th. This auction encompasses a range of assets, including patents, software, hardware, and intellectual property associated with the company's remote patient respiratory care platform.

The auction will be hosted online by Fisher Auction Company, based in Florida, utilising their bidding platform.

Established in 2018, AireHealth is known for developing an FDA-approved nebulizer featuring Bluetooth capabilities, designed for precise medication administration.

Nebulizers are utilised to transform liquid medication into a fine mist, which can then be directly inhaled into the lungs. They are instrumental in delivering medicines for various respiratory conditions, encompassing asthma and other pulmonary illnesses.

The distinctive aspect of AireHealth's nebulizer lies in its incorporation of Bluetooth technology, along with integration into a digital platform via APIs. This configuration offers immediate access to real-time patient data for medical professionals. This connectivity renders the device ideal for remote monitoring of individuals grappling with chronic respiratory issues.

Furthermore, AireHealth's AI and machine learning software exhibit potential for generating predictive insights regarding patients' clinical conditions.

Beyond the physical nebulizers, poised for commercialization, the auction package encompasses the accompanying phone app software, ample component inventory, and tools to construct 3,500 nebulizers. Additionally, it includes the FDA 510(k) clearance for commercialization in the United States and the comprehensive design history file.

The winning bidder will also gain access to API software facilitating data transfer to customers' data hubs, seven granted patents and three patents currently undergoing review, as well as a prototype for the "Achelous Lung Function Analyzer."

The auction collection is supplemented by digital assets such as the website, various social media platforms, corporate and brand logos, marketing materials like videos, as well as critical resources like clinical data, a lung sound database, and documentation for the quality management system.

A broader industry trend is noticeable in the respiratory health sector. In 2020, AireHealth made headlines with its acquisition of BreathResearch, another player in respiratory health, which granted AireHealth access to BreathResearch's intellectual property, research, and patents, including advancements in machine learning analytics for tracking respiratory conditions.

Another notable player, Aevice Health, focuses on respiratory ailments and has introduced the AeviceMD Monitoring System. This patient management platform gathers and analyses lung sounds to detect signs of respiratory distress. Aevice recently secured FDA 510(k) clearance for its intelligent wearable stethoscope. The company is actively collaborating with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center to pilot its remote respiratory monitoring system and has also developed an algorithm for analysing lung sounds.
