American Heart Association, IVI RMA, and AI by HER Launch Global Grant Programs for Women’s Health

Three organizations have opened new funding opportunities totaling more than $1.3 million to advance women’s health research, reproductive and maternal health initiatives, and AI-enabled solutions addressing societal challenges. Each program offers targeted support to researchers, nonprofits or women-led technology teams working in priority areas with unmet needs.

The American Heart Association (AHA) has launched its Redefining Women’s Health: From Heart to Head to Hormones program, which will award up to $1 million across as many as 10 investigators or investigative teams. Individual one-year grants will provide $100,000 for projects examining conditions that disproportionately or exclusively affect women. Priority areas include ischemia with non-obstructive coronary arteries and cardiovascular microvascular disease, autoimmune disease screening and care models, next-generation treatments for endometriosis, and classification and care models for heavy menstrual bleeding. The program highlights that cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death in women and notes that up to 50% of women presenting with angina or coronary artery disease symptoms have no obstructive lesions on angiography, a group estimated at 3–4 million women in the United States.

Applications are open to researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs and innovators affiliated with U.S.-based nonprofit institutions. Pre-proposals are due January 6, 2026, with selected applicants advancing to full submissions by April 14, 2026. Awards will be announced in June 2026, with funding beginning July 1, 2026. Awardees will receive support from Studio Red on intellectual property, regulatory and reimbursement strategy, commercialization planning, fundraising and pitch development through monthly webinars. At the end of the award period, 1–2 recipients may be considered for Studio Red incubation to support early company formation. Applicants must hold an MD, PhD, DO, DVM, DDS, DNP or equivalent doctoral degree and be AHA Professional Members at the time of pre-proposal submission.

IVI RMA Global has created the Global Health Social Impact Award, offering a $50,000 grant to a nonprofit project focused on reproductive or maternal health. Eligible organizations must operate in or partner with nonprofits across specified countries and demonstrate at least two years of activity or meaningful early results. Projects may address reproductive health, fertility, maternal care, psychosocial support, education, prevention or fertility preservation in cancer settings. Applications close December 31, 2025, with evaluation based on health impact, scalability, social equity, innovation, sustainability and alignment with IVI RMA Global’s mission. The highest-scoring applications will proceed to an employee vote, and the selected project will be announced in the first quarter of 2026.

AI by HER has opened applications for the Global Impact Challenge, which will award up to INR 2.50 crore (approximately $300,000) for women-led AI solutions addressing large-scale or novel public challenges. Conducted in partnership with NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform, the program is open to teams worldwide. Applications are due November 30, 2025, with up to 30 teams selected to present at the India-AI Impact Summit in February 2026. Participants will receive mentorship through virtual bootcamps focused on responsible AI and investor readiness, culminating in an investor pitch session for high-potential solutions. To qualify as women-led, at least one founder or lead researcher must be a woman holding a significant leadership role and meaningful equity stake.
