Apple has unveiled the Apple Watch Series 9, featuring new health and usability enhancements.
Users can now access their health data through Siri by asking questions like sleep duration or heart rate. Siri's dictation is 25% more accurate, as processing happens on the device, not in the cloud.
The Series 9 boasts double the brightness of its predecessor, a new S9 SiP chip for faster performance, and an 18-hour battery life. It introduces a "double tap" gesture for interaction and control, allowing users to answer calls, navigate apps, and manage alarms and music playback by tapping their thumb and index finger together.
The watch also emphasises Apple's sustainability efforts, using recycled and renewable materials throughout its development. Apple introduced the Apple Watch Ultra 2, with cycling features, and new iPhone models but didn't announce new health-related features for the phones.
Pricing for the Series 9 starts at $399, and the Ultra 2 at $799, with availability on September 22.
