Astrana Health Acquires Collaborative Health Systems to Enhance Value-Based Care

Astrana Health, a prominent technology-driven healthcare company, has acquired Collaborative Health Systems (CHS), a management services organization that serves over 129,000 beneficiaries across 17 states. This strategic acquisition aims to significantly enhance Astrana’s care delivery capabilities and solidify its standing in the value-based care market.

The acquisition brings CHS’s strong provider network, which includes over 350 primary care physicians concentrated in states such as Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, New Mexico, Virginia, and Texas, into Astrana's fold. By integrating CHS’s provider footprint with Astrana’s advanced care enablement platform, the company plans to improve care coordination, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency. Astrana's platform offers tools for value-based contracting, care management, and population health analytics, empowering CHS providers to deliver superior care.

Expected to close by the end of the year pending regulatory approvals, the transaction will prompt Astrana to update its financial outlook for the combined entity. Financial terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed. Astrana’s President and CEO, Brandon Sim, highlighted that the merger will enhance their capability to provide accessible, high-quality, and high-value care nationwide, leveraging CHS's established value-based care ecosystem and robust provider base to elevate the healthcare experience for patients across the country.
