Belong.Life launches AI clinical trial matching assistant for cancer

Belong.Life has introduced "Tara," a conversational AI SaaS solution designed to assist healthcare providers and CROs in matching and recruiting cancer patients for clinical trials.

Tara can be integrated into websites, mobile apps, or text messaging platforms to facilitate communication with patients who have opted in. With over 136,000 clinical trials available in the U.S., finding suitable trials is often challenging for patients due to complex databases and unclear participation criteria.

Tara uses real-world patient data collected over seven years to engage patients, gather essential information, and match them with relevant clinical trials within three days. This SaaS platform aims to enhance recruitment, improve randomisation, reduce costs, and streamline the clinical trial recruitment process.

After conversations with Tara, a summary is sent to Belong's clinical trial matching team, who employ Machine Learning (ML) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) algorithms to match patients with suitable trials based on their unique circumstances and location.

Healthcare systems can also use the platform to direct patients to in-house resources and clinical trials. Typically, patients are matched with relevant clinical trials within three days and can be connected directly to managing sites, making clinical trial participation more accessible.

Irad Deutsch, Co-founder and CTO of Belong.Life, highlighted the company's commitment to creating tailored AI solutions for the healthcare industry and transforming healthcare by providing patients with empathetic and precise support while enabling healthcare providers to engage more effectively.
