Cleerly Presents New AI-Driven CT Coronary Assessment Research on Predicting Major Cardiac Events

Cleerly, presented results from the CONFIRM2 global study, which has shown that AI-based cardiac CT analysis can effectively predict major heart events in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) symptoms. Led by Dr. Alexander R. van Rosendael, the research highlighted two primary predictors of adverse cardiovascular outcomes: % Diameter Stenosis and Non-Calcified Plaque Volume, which proved more accurate than traditional risk scores.

The study, involving 3,551 patients from 18 sites across 13 countries, revealed that calcified plaque volume alone does not predict poor outcomes. Dr. James K. Min, Cleerly’s CEO, described the study as a “transformative leap,” noting that AI-driven coronary assessments can significantly improve diagnostic accuracy and support early interventions to lower cardiovascular risks.

"The integration of AI in assessing coronary artery disease represents a transformative leap in our ability to predict and manage coronary heart disease-related events. AI-QCT analysis of cardiac CT provides diameter stenosis percentages and an accurate view of non-calcified plaque volume based on millions of images. This research not only highlights the potential of AI to improve diagnostic accuracy but also the importance of early intervention in reducing the risk of serious cardiovascular events." said Dr. James K. Min, Founder and CEO of Cleerly.
