Costco is extending its healthcare services by introducing a comprehensive weight loss program, available nationwide to its members through a partnership with digital healthcare marketplace Sesame.
The program, starting at $179 for a three-month subscription, includes access to a network of outpatient providers, offering both virtual and in-person care, with features such as video consultations with weight loss specialists, insurance coordination, and unlimited messaging support for nutrition and exercise guidance. Medication costs and lab work are not covered, though eligible Costco members can fill prescriptions, including GLP-1 medications like Ozempic and Wegovy, at Costco pharmacies, subject to availability.
This expansion builds upon Costco's initial collaboration with Sesame, established in September 2023, which aimed to provide affordable healthcare services to members, including virtual primary care, health checkups, and mental health therapy sessions. Sesame's partnerships and recent funding rounds reflect its ongoing growth and commitment to expanding its service offerings in the digital health landscape.
