Definitive Healthcare, a digital healthcare data company, has successfully completed the acquisition of Populi, a digital healthcare analytics firm.
The transaction, executed entirely in cash, amounts to $52 million, with the potential for an additional $28 million payout contingent upon Populi achieving specific performance targets. This acquisition closely follows Definitive's recent reduction of its workforce by 42 employees, a move documented in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Populi's analytical solutions are currently employed by prominent healthcare institutions, including the University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia and Henry Ford Health in Detroit.
Definitive's CEO, Robert Musslewhite, expressed his perspective on the acquisition, stating, "The inclusion of Populi in our portfolio marks one of numerous strategic investments aimed at augmenting the value proposition we offer our clients. We remain dedicated to robust expansion and growth across all our markets."
