Caire, a virtual care ecosystem developed by Northwell Holdings and Aegis Ventures, has appointed John Noseworthy, M.D., former president and CEO of Mayo Clinic, as Executive Chairman.
Noseworthy will lead the Caire Collaborative, a consortium of health systems that will serve as investors, early adopters, and clinical partners for Caire's hybrid model of in-person and virtual care. Caire aims to redefine healthcare delivery by using AI-enabled virtual care products to connect patients with necessary health services promptly.
The goal is to enhance patient experience and outcomes through a tech-enabled, comprehensive healthcare approach.
Caire addresses issues faced by employers, such as delivering cost-effective and evidence-based care efficiently. By partnering with health systems first, Caire aims to mitigate challenges like clinician burnout and workforce turnover.
The collaboration combines Caire's virtual solutions with health system in-person resources to create an integrated model of care delivery. This approach, driven by Noseworthy, seeks to leverage technology to bridge gaps and disparities in care.
Caire is the result of a partnership between Northwell Holdings and Aegis Ventures. It launched its initial company, Upliv, to assist women in managing menopause symptoms. The overarching model emphasises inter-health system collaboration, aiming to pioneer a new era of coordinated and innovative healthcare that combines virtual and in-person care while preserving access to vital health services.
