Glytec, a leader in cloud-based diabetes and insulin management SaaS technology, has established a strategic partnership with TidalHealth, a Maryland-based integrated health system, to advance diabetes and glycemic management across their healthcare facilities. The collaboration focuses on implementing Glytec's FDA-cleared software platform to improve patient safety, clinical outcomes, and overall quality of care.
After a comprehensive evaluation of market options, TidalHealth selected Glytec's solution for its seamless integration capabilities with their existing Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system. The platform's ability to optimize insulin therapy, reduce variability and risk, and enhance glycemic control were key factors in the decision.
Angela Brittingham, DNP, MS, RN, TidalHealth's Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Executive, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: "We are excited to partner with Glytec to enhance our ability to deliver high-quality care to our patients. We have a robust Diabetes Management team, and the integration of Glytec's insulin management system with our EMR will streamline workflows for our inpatient clinical teams and result in improvements across the continuum of care in the outpatient sector."
The implementation will initially focus on deploying Glucommander, Glytec's insulin management solution, at TidalHealth's primary facilities - TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, MD, and TidalHealth Nanticoke in Seaford, DE. These facilities serve as regional healthcare hubs, making improved insulin management and personalized treatment plans crucial components of their care delivery strategy.
Pat Cua, CEO of Glytec, commented on the partnership's potential: "We are thrilled to partner with TidalHealth to bring the power of insulin management to their providers and patients. Our collaboration will help TidalHealth deliver superior care while optimizing workflow efficiency and cost."
The partnership represents a significant step in TidalHealth's commitment to enhancing patient care through technology integration. As the collaboration progresses, there are plans to expand the scope to address additional chronic conditions and further elevate the standard of care across the entire health system.
