At the 2nd International Conference on Technology and Innovation of Southeast Europe in Thessaloniki, Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis committed to introducing individual electronic health files within a year. He emphasized the importance of expanding digital applications, such as e-prescriptions and personal health files, aiming to include all tourists and achieve 100% digital prescription usage.
Georgiadis highlighted the significant advancements in healthcare technology over the past decade, noting Greece's sophisticated prescription system. He also announced a major digital upgrade for the health system, funded by the Recovery Fund, to enhance overall healthcare efficiency.
The key initiative is the electronic patient record, set for delivery by summer 2025. This will enable every Greek citizen to have a comprehensive digital medical history, accessible to any doctor, thus improving patient care and health management.
