KODE Health Secures $27M Series B to Scale AI-Enhanced Medical Coding Platform

KODE Health, a provider of on-demand medical coding solutions, has secured $27 million in Series B funding to advance its platform connecting healthcare systems with certified coding professionals. The round was led by Noro-Moseley Partners, with participation from Mercury, FCA Venture Partners, Epsilon Innovation Fund, and 111 West Capital.

The investment addresses a critical challenge in healthcare administration, where coding-related expenses contribute to 15-30% of total healthcare expenditures in the United States. Traditional medical coding processes face persistent challenges including staffing shortages and operational inefficiencies that can delay reimbursements and increase costs for healthcare providers.

KODE Health's platform introduces a modernized approach to medical coding by creating a marketplace that connects healthcare systems with certified coding professionals. The platform incorporates AI technology to enhance coding accuracy while streamlining the overall process. This innovation enables healthcare providers to access coding resources on demand, helping to eliminate common bottlenecks in the revenue cycle.

Brian Dessoy, Co-Founder of KODE Health, explained the company's vision: "KODE was born out of the healthcare industry's fundamental need for more efficiencies and cost savings across the coding ecosystem, and ultimately, bring together medical coding professionals, and hospital systems through a dynamic, easy-to-use marketplace."

The platform offers healthcare providers significant operational benefits through its on-demand model. Organizations can scale their coding resources based on workload fluctuations, while maintaining high accuracy standards through AI-assisted verification. This flexibility helps healthcare systems optimize their staffing costs while improving their revenue cycle management processes.

The funding will support KODE Health's continued development of its AI-enhanced platform and expansion of its marketplace of certified coding professionals. By addressing the efficiency and accuracy challenges in medical coding, KODE Health aims to reduce the administrative burden on healthcare providers while improving the speed and accuracy of the coding process.
