LGBTQ+ healthcare startup Folx Health gains in-network provider status

Boston-based digital healthcare service, Folx Health, is now accepting insurance, making it an in-network healthcare provider for LGBTQIA+ individuals.

They have partnered with various insurance plans, including Blue Shield of California, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas, Optum, Cigna, and Cigna's subsidiary Evernorth, to offer virtual primary care, gender-affirming care, and mental health services delivered by LGBTQIA+-specialised clinicians.

This change reduces out-of-pocket expenses for members and aligns with Folx Health's recent shift to a monthly membership fee structure, making LGBTQ+ healthcare more accessible and affordable.

Folx Health had previously secured $30 million in a Series B funding round and offers virtual primary care and support for LGBTQIA+ youth and diversity, equity, and inclusion training.

Another company in this space is OutCare Health, focusing on LGBTQ+ digital health offerings to improve healthcare experiences and reduce medical gaslighting.
