Massive Bio Named OpenAI Select Partner for Oncology and Clinical Research AI

Massive Bio has been named an OpenAI Select Partner, expanding the companies’ collaboration around AI applications for precision oncology, clinical research and healthcare workflows.

The OpenAI Partner Network brings together organizations with industry expertise, delivery capabilities and customer relationships to support enterprise adoption of OpenAI models and products. Under its Select Partner status, Massive Bio plans to work with OpenAI on deploying and scaling governed AI solutions for healthcare systems, research networks, biopharmaceutical companies, clinicians and patient-support organizations.

Massive Bio provides AI-enabled clinical-trial intelligence, patient pre-screening, potential-match identification, referral orchestration, patient engagement and real-world data capabilities. Its technology can convert complex clinical-trial protocol criteria into structured, machine-readable parameters and combine clinical and biomarker information to identify potential trial options for review by qualified professionals.

The company emphasized that these systems support research and trial processes rather than replace clinical judgment or determine final study eligibility. The partnership builds on previous work between Massive Bio and OpenAI involving large-scale clinical-trial protocol parameterization and real-time patient pre-screening.

“Massive Bio has focused from the beginning on turning AI into scalable infrastructure for clinical research. Being named an OpenAI Select Partner strengthens our ability to pair frontier models with oncology expertise and governed delivery, helping healthcare and life sciences organizations move from promising pilots to measurable production workflows,” said Selin Kurnaz, PhD, co-founder and CEO of Massive Bio.

Massive Bio said its future OpenAI-related work will prioritize clearly defined applications supported by human oversight, performance evaluation, data governance and lifecycle monitoring. Planned areas of expansion include clinical-trial intelligence, patient access and precision-oncology operations.

“AI will matter in oncology only when it can convert complex evidence into timely, responsible action inside real clinical and research workflows. Our OpenAI Select Partner status strengthens our ability to combine frontier models with oncology-specific knowledge, human oversight, and rigorous evaluation, helping teams move from manual protocol interpretation to scalable, traceable execution,” said Arturo Loaiza-Bonilla, MD, MSEd, FACP, co-founder and chief medical AI officer.

Massive Bio currently operates across 17 countries, supporting patients, physicians, research sites, health systems and biopharmaceutical organizations across the clinical-trial lifecycle.
