Pomelo Care, a virtual maternity care platform, has secured $33 million in seed and Series A funding, with Andreessen Horowitz leading the investment. The New York-based company specialises in partnering with employers, health plans, and providers to deliver comprehensive virtual fertility, pregnancy, and newborn care, covering the entire journey from preconception to a baby's first year. Their services encompass nutrition counselling, educational resources, primary and women's healthcare, and round-the-clock access to a care team member via telephone, text, or video.
The newly acquired funds will primarily be utilised to expand Pomelo Care's collaborations with health plans, employers, and academic medical centres. Marta Bralic Kerns, the founder and CEO of Pomelo Care, emphasised the importance of timely and high-quality care in improving outcomes for families. Regardless of their circumstances or health coverage, Pomelo Care aims to ensure equitable access to top-notch care, addressing patient concerns promptly and conveniently at home, thereby reducing unnecessary emergency room visits and mitigating the risk of pregnancy, postpartum, and newborn complications.
Meanwhile, having successfully concluded a Series A funding round, Yuvo Health, a technology-enabled platform designed to assist federally qualified health centres (FQHCs), has secured a total of $27.5 million in funding, with the Series A round alone contributing $20.2 million to the company's financial resources. Additionally, Syntax Health has launched with $7.5 million in seed funding. The company provides an innovative enterprise solution that facilitates the alignment of payers and providers around value-based care models and payments.
