The Missouri Behavioral Health Council (MBHC) has partnered with Chorus Innovations to launch MOConnect, a digital platform designed to transform behavioral health care across Missouri. In collaboration with the Missouri Department of Mental Health and crisis service providers, MOConnect will integrate behavioral health assessments, crisis response, and referrals to enhance coordinated care statewide.
MOConnect will streamline the state's behavioral health crisis care continuum, improving coordination and communication between 988 crisis lines, mobile teams, Behavioral Health Crisis Centers, and post-crisis referral networks. This initiative aims to meet the urgent need for a technology-driven solution, as evidenced by the 58,000 calls to Missouri's 988 Lifeline from October 2022 to October 2023. The platform serves as a model for other states looking to enhance care coordination in their behavioral health systems.
Key features of MOConnect include a Crisis Response Hub for optimized crisis dispatch, a Referral and Resource Network for real-time support service connections, and data-driven insights for informed decision-making. MBHC President Brent McGinty and Chorus CEO Armen Arevian highlight the platform's potential to ensure no Missourian falls through the cracks and to adapt to the state's evolving needs through collaborative innovation.
