MyFitnessPal introduces gut health nutrition plan and new in-app features

MyFitnessPal, the top-ranked global nutrition and food tracking app, has launched a new Gut Health Nutrition Plan in collaboration with Dr. Janese Laster from its Scientific Advisory Council. The initiative aims to bridge the knowledge gap about gut health, which is increasingly recognized for its importance to overall wellness. The plan, available to all users for free, includes a variety of resources such as nutrition suggestions, quizzes to test knowledge and assess eating habits, and daily check-ins for reflecting on progress and motivating behavioral change.

In addition to the nutrition plan, MyFitnessPal has introduced a new recipe collection that focuses on high-fiber foods and incorporates a diverse array of fruits and vegetables. Despite many people trying to improve their gut health by eating a variety of fruits and vegetables, MyFitnessPal's survey found that only 2% consume more than 20 different types per week. The app's new feature, Food Group Insights, helps users track their consumption across different food groups, providing a clearer picture of their dietary habits.

This initiative is part of MyFitnessPal’s broader mission to empower users to achieve their health goals through better food choices. By incorporating tools like daily check-ins, the app encourages users to become more aware of their habits and take active steps toward healthier behavior patterns.
