Rad AI, Google partner to move radiology reporting forward with AI

Rad AI, a leading AI startup in radiology reporting, has announced a partnership with Google to leverage its cloud and AI innovations. The collaboration aims to save time for radiologists, reduce burnout, and enhance the quality of patient care.

Rad AI will use Google Cloud's platform and AI tools, including MedLM, a family of foundation models fine-tuned for healthcare industry use cases. The partnership designates Google Cloud as Rad AI's preferred cloud provider. Rad AI's AI-enabled reporting platform, Rad AI Reporting, seeks to address the increasing workload for radiologists by reducing the words dictated in reports by up to 90 percent.

The partnership plans to enhance Rad AI's platforms with domain-aligned gen AI models from Google, such as MedLM, to automatically generate more customised radiology reports. This not only saves radiologists time but also improves the quality and consistency of reports. With Google Cloud's ecosystem and technology, Rad AI aims to expand the size and complexity of its gen AI models, achieving higher levels of clinical accuracy, personalisation, and performance gains. The collaboration aligns with the goal of advancing generative AI capabilities in radiology to manage workflows and expedite patient treatment through faster and more accurate diagnoses.

Aashima Gupta, global director of Healthcare Strategy & Solutions at Google Cloud, highlighted the immediate, high-value impact that generative AI advancements can have in radiology and reporting, aiming to expedite patient treatment through faster and more accurate diagnoses. The partnership is expected to redefine radiology reporting, ushering in a new era of efficiency, accuracy, and patient-centric care.
