German-based period tracker and reproductive health company, Clue has raised €7M in funding led by existing investors Union Square Ventures and Balderton Capital. Clue has also announced it will now also allow users to become investors, via crowdfunding platform Crowdcube.
Clue provides a period tracking app, combining science and technology to allow women to learn, access, and talk about menstrual and reproductive health. In 2021, Clue received FDA 510(k) clearance for Clue Birth Control, an all-digital form of contraception, relying solely on period tracking data. Subsequently the company received €16M in funding to roll-out the app in the U.S.
The company will use the funding to expand its portfolio, scale into digital family planning, and continue research and development activities.
