Salesforce has introduced new artificial intelligence (AI) solutions aimed at alleviating administrative burdens for healthcare workers and addressing physician burnout. The first tool, Einstein Copilot: Health Actions, enables doctors to automate tasks such as appointment booking, patient information summarisation, and referrals by utilising conversational language prompts for AI. The second tool, Assessment Generation, allows organisations to digitise health assessments, eliminating the need for manual typing or coding. Both features are part of Salesforce's Einstein AI Platform, which consolidates medical data from various sources into a unified platform. Administrative tasks like paperwork filing contribute significantly to healthcare worker burnout, making these AI solutions crucial for streamlining processes and improving overall efficiency in healthcare settings.
These tools come as a response to the growing problem of burnout among healthcare professionals, with labour-intensive administrative tasks identified as a key factor. The integration of AI in healthcare aims to reduce the workload associated with accessing data stored in diverse formats and databases. Salesforce's solutions enable physicians to generate patient summaries efficiently, including details like medications, clinical service requests, diagnoses, and tests. The Assessment Generation tool is set to be available in the summer, while Einstein Copilot: Health Actions is expected to be in use by the end of the year. Additionally, all features and functionalities of Einstein Copilot are anticipated to comply with HIPAA regulations as of this summer, ensuring the secure handling of patient data.
