Samsung has announced that the Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification (IHRN) feature will soon be available to users in 13 markets.
This summer, Galaxy Watch users will have access to the feature, which, when combined with the app's Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, can detect heart rhythms indicating atrial fibrillation (AFib). This development aims to provide users with a more comprehensive understanding of their heart health.
The American Heart Organization predicts that there will be over 12 million people living with AFib by 2030. With the introduction of the IHRN feature, more than 15 million Galaxy Watch users will have the opportunity to monitor their cardiovascular health more effectively.
The Irregular Heart Rhythm Notification feature will be introduced on Galaxy Watch devices with the upcoming One UI 5 Watch update. Samsung plans to expand its availability to previous editions of the watch in the future.
