Sanofi, a pharmaceutical company, is expanding its use of artificial intelligence (AI) in drug discovery by partnering with BioMap, a startup founded by Baidu's CEO, Robin Li.
BioMap's AI technology focuses on analysing proteins to facilitate biologic drug discovery. Through a new alliance, Sanofi and BioMap will co-develop AI modules for discovering large-molecule biologic drugs, using BioMap's biological map of proteins.
This partnership enables Sanofi to harness AI to create novel biologic drugs in addition to small molecule drugs, furthering its AI-driven drug discovery efforts.
Sanofi's growing list of AI collaborations includes previous alliances with startups like Owkin, Exscientia, Atomwise, and Insilico Medicine.
