Suvi Health has launched an Ambient AI Care Coordination Platform designed to improve communication throughout hospital stays, strengthen care continuity and reduce delayed discharges. Developed through 1842 Studio in collaboration with researchers from the University of Notre Dame and clinicians at Mayo Clinic, the platform extends ambient AI beyond traditional clinical documentation by focusing on the complex coordination required among patients, clinicians and family caregivers in inpatient settings.
Unlike conventional ambient scribes that require clinicians to manually start and stop recordings, Suvi's technology can automatically detect when members of the care team enter and leave a patient's room. The platform captures bedside conversations involving physicians, nurses, pharmacists, therapists and other clinicians, then transforms those discussions into structured care plans, prioritized tasks and plain-language progress updates. This creates a shared view of what needs to happen during the hospital stay and before the patient can safely return home.
The platform is designed to address information gaps that frequently occur during inpatient handoffs and discharge planning. Important medication changes, treatment goals and recovery milestones can become fragmented across clinical notes and shift changes, while patients may struggle to remember information communicated during rounds. Suvi aims to create a continuous record of these interactions and make relevant information accessible to patients and authorized family caregivers, including those who cannot be physically present at the hospital.
Suvi has also designed the platform as a relatively lightweight layer that can operate without extensive electronic medical record integration. The system incorporates HIPAA compliance and consent protocols while providing care teams with actionable information generated from bedside conversations. By reducing manual coordination and improving visibility into outstanding tasks, the company hopes to help hospitals shorten length of stay and reduce preventable readmissions.
Mayo Clinic Florida will serve as Suvi Health's initial pilot site, with a four-month deployment scheduled to begin in September 2026. The pilot will focus on heart failure patients admitted through cardiology and internal medicine, evaluating whether the technology can improve care coordination and reduce hospital length of stay. The deployment follows a year-long co-development effort involving Mayo Clinic clinicians and University of Notre Dame researchers.
