WELL Health, a digital health company, has announced the approval of a $44 million project, Health Compass II, funded by the Canadian government. This initiative is designed to advance AI integration and interoperability in healthcare, with the goal of improving patient outcomes and streamlining healthcare operations. The project will introduce four AI-driven modules into a mobile app for healthcare providers, enhancing clinical decision-making and reducing administrative burdens.
The Health Compass II project will lower healthcare delivery costs and increase patient satisfaction within a two-year timeframe. WELL Health will receive $15.3 million in funding from DIGITAL to support research and development as well as commercialization efforts. As the lead commercialization partner, WELL Health will also provide expertise to other consortium partners, helping them develop AI tools that empower healthcare providers and improve patient care.
Among the AI modules included in the project are Decision Compass by HEALWELL AI, which aids in early diagnosis of rare diseases, and Patient Compass by ORX, a virtual agent that enhances patient engagement. Additionally, SMART Inbox by Phelix will automate administrative tasks, and Tali's Voice Assistant will capture medically significant information from conversations. This initiative is a significant step in WELL Health’s ongoing mission to leverage technology in reducing healthcare provider burnout and improving patient outcomes, while also contributing to the broader digital transformation of healthcare.
