WHOOP and Natural Cycles Partner to Expand Wearable-Based Fertility Tracking

WHOOP has announced a partnership with Natural Cycles to integrate its wearable technology with the FDA-cleared Natural Cycles fertility app, providing eligible users with personalised fertility insights and access to hormone-free birth control supported by biometric data collected through WHOOP devices.

Under the collaboration, WHOOP members using WHOOP MG and WHOOP 5.0 devices who are new to Natural Cycles will receive a 12-month subscription to the Natural Cycles app. The integration enables the app to automatically analyse overnight skin temperature captured by the wearable to determine a user's daily fertility status, eliminating the need for separate temperature measurements.

Natural Cycles first received FDA De Novo clearance in 2018 as a digital contraceptive application designed to identify fertile and non-fertile days based on menstrual cycle data. In 2021, the FDA authorised the platform to integrate data from third-party thermometers, including consumer wearable devices, allowing body temperature to be used alongside heart rate data to support fertility tracking.

Beyond contraception, the platform also supports users planning pregnancy and offers dedicated modes for pregnancy, the postpartum period and perimenopause. The partnership expands access to these capabilities through an automated connection with WHOOP's wearable ecosystem.

Commenting on the integration, Magda Armbruster, Vice President of Product at Natural Cycles, said, "Integrating with WHOOP removes friction from the experience by allowing members to use the wearable they already rely on to automatically capture overnight skin temperature used by the NC° app to determine daily fertility status. It's another step toward making hormone-free birth control fit more naturally into everyday life."

The collaboration reflects WHOOP's continued expansion into women's health. In recent years, the company has introduced Women's Hormonal Insights, Reproductive Health Tracking with pregnancy-specific coaching, and a women's health blood biomarker panel that combines laboratory results with wearable data and AI modelling to generate personalised health insights. Natural Cycles has also expanded its wearable ecosystem through previous integrations with Apple, Oura and Samsung, further supporting the adoption of digital reproductive health tools across consumer devices.
