Wisp, Origin Partner to Expand Women's Healthcare Access

Women's telehealth provider Wisp and pelvic floor physical therapy company Origin have announced a strategic partnership designed to expand access to comprehensive women's healthcare services across both platforms.

Wisp specializes in providing same-day telehealth appointments for women seeking treatment for sexual and reproductive health concerns. Through their platform, patients can connect with licensed medical providers and, when necessary, obtain prescriptions for same-day pickup at local pharmacies or home delivery. The company's services span a wide range of women's health needs, including reproductive health, vaginal health, prevention, weight management, hormonal health, and more.

Origin, operating as a hybrid care provider, focuses on whole-body physical therapy with special emphasis on pelvic floor health to improve sexual wellness during various life stages including pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and menopause. Their physical therapy services address conditions such as pregnancy and birth preparation, postpartum recovery, diastasis recti, bladder and bowel control issues, pelvic organ prolapse, pain associated with endometriosis and PCOS, and vaginoplasty preparation and recovery.

Under the new partnership, Wisp members will gain access to Origin's complete suite of physical therapy services, including specialized treatments for postpartum healing, pain during intercourse, pre-pregnancy strengthening, and symptom management for vaginal infections such as UTIs.

Correspondingly, Origin patients will receive discounted access to Wisp's comprehensive reproductive and sexual health offerings, including fertility and menopause products, as well as UTI and STI care.

"At Wisp, we remain steadfast in our commitment to breaking down barriers around taboo topics that are too often tied to overlooked women's health topics and conditions. We're able to do this successfully in part because of the strategic partnerships we form with other like-minded, female-focused companies in the space," Monica Cepak, Wisp CEO, told MobiHealthNews in an email.

"This collaboration with Origin is no different, as we look to provide our patients with 360-degree care, now offering a holistic approach to pelvic health and ensuring women have the resources and support they need to better manage and treat things like persistent UTIs, postpartum healing, painful sex and more."

This partnership represents a growing trend in women's healthcare toward more integrated and comprehensive care models. As part of MobiHealthNews' 2024 year-in-review series, Cepak predicted that women's healthcare would continue to evolve with a focus on reproductive rights and access to care in a post-Roe environment. She emphasized that advances in telehealth, wearables, and AI are empowering women to take greater control of their health, while increased attention is being directed toward chronic conditions like PCOS and endometriosis, as well as perimenopause and menopause.

This isn't the first strategic partnership for Wisp. Last year, the company announced a collaboration with Nourish, a food as medicine platform, enabling Wisp patients to access nutrition counseling services through their health insurance or at an exclusive self-pay rate.

Through these partnerships, both Wisp and Origin are working to address the fragmentation often experienced in women's healthcare by creating more seamless pathways to comprehensive care.
